About Us
Valley Oak SPCA, established in 1991, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which operates an Animal Shelter/Adoption Center and Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Our Purpose
Valley Oak SPCA will, through direct action, promote the humane treatment of animals, educate our community on responsible pet care, reduce pet overpopulation through an aggressive spay/neuter program and celebrate the human/animal bond.

Our Work
We take in approximately 11,000 dogs and cats each year, providing animal control, cruelty investigations and sheltering services for the City of Visalia, in addition to sheltering services for the cities of Tulare, Dinuba, Exeter, Farmersville and Woodlake.  We strive to place as many animals as possible into loving, lifetime homes. We work to decrease pet overpopulation through our Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic as well as community outreach and education.

Services and Programs
Services and programs include: Adoptions at our shelter as well as offsite events every Saturday; Rescue Railroad partnership with rescue groups and no-kill shelters; Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (including weekly vaccination clinics); Community Outreach and education programs; Lost Pet Line (daily listing of impounded stray dogs and cats); Pet Behavior Careline; Dog Training classes.

Volunteers
Volunteers are a vital part of our organization and we are always in need of their assistance.  Opportunities include adoption counselors, foster care, Rescue Railroad transport, critter companion/exerciser, bathing/grooming, humane education, adoption & spay/neuter follow-up, clerical work (shelter, clinic, at home) and fundraising events.
