What breeds of animals will be available?
Nearly every breed, size, color, shape and personality of dog and cat will be available at the Super Adoption. Nationally, more than a third of the animals put to death in shelters are purebreds. If you have a breed or type of dog or cat in mind, chances are you will find him or her at the Super Adoption!
How do I adopt an animal companion?
Come to the Super Adoption and when you find a new member of your family, you will apply for adoption with the group offering the animal companion. Each group has its own adoption application and agreement.
How much does it cost to adopt?
Adoption fees are standardized for the Super Adoption: $120.00 for a dog/puppy and $70.00 for a cat/kitten. If you consider the medical care, including the cost of spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, deworming and the cost of micro-chipping, these adoption fees are the bargain of the century.
Are the animals spayed or neutered?
Absolutely! We don't want to contribute to the already overwhelming pet overpopulation crisis in the valley.
Are the animals vaccinated?
Yes. All dogs have had their age appropriate vaccinations. For older dogs, this means rabies and DHPP vaccinations. Some puppies will not be old enough to have already received all their shots so if you adopt one of these, you will have to follow up to make sure they receive further vaccinations necessary. Cats have had their rabies FVRCP vaccinations and have tested negative for feline leukemia.
Are the animals micro-chipped?
Yes. Every animal adopted at Super Adoption will be implanted with a micro-chip at no additional cost to the adopter! Micro-chipping is an important form of identification which can save your animal's life if he or she is picked up and taken to a shelter.
How old are the animals?
A minimum of eight weeks of age. We will have dogs and cats in all age groups. Remember that dogs over the age of six months are highly desirable companions since many are already house-broken!
How will I select an animal who is right for my family?
Our shelter and rescue groups are experts at matching individuals with just the right animal companion. Come and let them find a bundle of love to add to your family!
What will I receive with my new animal companion?
All dogs will go home with a collar and leash and cats will be provided with a carrier. Thanks to Super Adoption sponsors, you will also receive a number of free gifts. These have in the past include (among others) a professional portrait of you and your new family addition (courtesy of JB's Photography), a 5 pound bag of gourmet dog or cat food (from Nature's Select Delivery Express), a coupon for a free engraved identification tag from Whitie's Pets, a photo button of you and your new animal companion (courtesy of Fresno Pet ER), a book of valuable coupons from PetCo and lots of other goodies and coupons for free services from a number of Super Adoption sponsors.
Will dogs already be licensed?
No, but you will be provided with information regarding how to purchase a dog license if you live in the cities of Clovis or Fresno or the Counties of Fresno, Madera, Merced or Tulare.
