About Us
PROUD was formed in 1997 and is a nonprofit corporation and no-kill dog shelter.

Mission Statement
The mission of PROUD is to end the use of euthanasia and to control pet population through education and spaying/neutering.

Our Purpose
To find permanent loving homes for dogs we rescue from animal shelters.

Our Work
PROUD rescues and adopts out dogs from local animal shelters.  In 2002, we adopted out approximately 900 dogs through our facility and through Bay Area rescue groups (approx 10 to 20 per week).  Each year we assist thousands of people through our weekly (Saturday and Sunday) adoption events at PETsMART, through our website (where we list adoptable dogs), and through adoptions at our facility (by appointment only).

Services and Programs
Our primary service is making adoptable dogs available at the Fresno (Shaw/Feland) PETsMART store.

Volunteers
We need volunteers to assist in transporting dogs to and from the groomer and veterinarian, bookkeeping work, photographing dogs at our shelter, and other errands.
