Last Hope Cat Kingdom is a nonprofit rescue group in Merced County. Its members are currently working out of their homes until they complete construction on their shelter which will be located on 18 acres south of Atwater. The first residential housing for cats is 100' x 20'. They are also constructing a sick room/isolation facility and plan to have the first phase of the sanctuary built by the end of 2004.
